Wondering what you should be doing with your lawn this fall after the summer drought? You’re not alone!
For many of us living in the Midwest, and other parts of the country, this has been an exceptionally dry and hot summer. Excessive heat and drought have taken a toll on many lawns. Unlike normal years, when turf simply goes dormant for a few weeks in summer, there are many lawn patches that did not survive.
Fall is a perfect time to reseed and fill in these trouble spots. The warm days and cool nights fall brings are ideal for growing new grass. Before you plant, however, be sure to rake up the dead grass and add a light layer of topsoil to the areas to be seeded. Also be sure to follow watering directions accordingly, for maximum results.
